Dior Jordan collaboration

On the first of last month, Nike finally released one of the biggest drops of the year. A collaboration between Nike and Dior to produce two pairs of Jordan trainers and an apparel range. Both the Jordan OG High and low stay true to a traditional Jordan design including a combination of luxe leather and leather overlays which improve the durability of the shoe. You also get a perforated toe box which is believed to increase airflow. This will make the shoe very comfortable with the ankle also padded for protection and comfort.
We usually have a very clean and simple Nike swoosh on an Air Jordan 1. On this particular design however, inside of the swoosh is filled with the iconic Dior logo in black with a thick black logo and beige background. There is also another Dior logo embossed into the leather where we would typically have a the winged Jordan logo.

The rest of the shoe is a combination of light grey and white. It is typical of a Jordan 1 for the majority of the shoe to consist of only two colours not including the swoosh. The sole being light blue makes this shoe actually look fairly similar to many other Jordan's that are much cheaper. that sole has already been used on several other shoes.
The biggest talking point of this shoes however is the price. On release day this shoe would have cost you £1800. That's £1650 more than a number of Jordan's that are very similar in appearance. You are spending nearly two grand for a couple of Dior logos. Even if you had the money to spend they didn't exactly make buying the shoes easy. First of all only 8500 pairs were made worldwide to make these incredibly exclusive. Then you had to apply to buy the shoes days in advance. Those lucky enough to be selected then had to go to a selected Dior store to collect their shoes in person which included an expedition on how the shoes are made and the story of the collaboration.
Like every shoe, there is an opportunity to buy these for the resell value after release. That is if you have a spare £8000- £10,000 according to StockX which makes me wonder how what other collaboration people would pay that much to have in their collections.
